Four people lose their lives and around Fourteen wounded in blast at crowded market in Barkhan-Balochistan, Pakistan


Today- 26 Feb 2023, Once again, Pakistan has been subjected to severe terrorist activity, with a blast occurring in Barkhan-Balochistan. As a result, at least four individuals lost their lives, and fourteen others sustained injuries.

 Currently there is no calamity response by any terror group for today’s attack in Barkhan-Balochistan,   

No group has claimed responsibility for Sunday’s attack in Barkhan, about 500km (310 miles) east of the provincial capital Quetta, which comes in a climate of rising terrorist activities in the region.

According to local police chief Sajjad Afzal, the blast that occurred in Barkhan-Balochistan was caused by a bomb that had been affixed to a motorcycle and was set off using remote control.

Rescuers took the wounded to hospital, and several shops at the market were badly damaged, Afzal added.

As reported by dawn.com, Barkhan Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Khoso indicated that the injured had been brought to Rakhni Hospital for treatment.

“Teams have begun collecting evidence from the site,” Moreover, he stated that the police had cordoned off the immediate area for investigation purposes.

Balochistan's Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo denounced the bombing and labeled it as a terrorist attack.

 "Such attacks are aimed at sowing seeds of chaos and instability, but we are determined to thwart the nefarious designs of these anti-state elements," he said, refraining from naming any particular group.

In another incident that occurred during the night, two police officers lost their lives when a magnetic bomb attached to their vehicle detonated in Khuzdar district of the province. Two other police officers were critically injured and were said to be receiving medical treatment.

Pakistan has experienced a surge in violence since the collapse of peace talks between the government and the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) last year. Balochistan, the country's largest province that shares borders with Afghanistan and Iran, is frequently targeted by various armed groups including sectarian organizations, nationalist separatists, and insurgent fighters.

Much of the violence is believed to be a response to Beijing's investment plans in the region, which aim to connect China's Xinjiang province with the Arabian Sea in Balochistan through a network of roads and railways. Despite authorities' claims of having suppressed the armed rebellion, violence continues to occur. The restive province has witnessed attacks from both the TTP and the ISIS group.

Since walking out of a ceasefire with the Pakistani government in November of last year, the Pakistani Taliban has been held responsible for more than 100 attacks.
